This coming Friday night, 3rd of February @ 9:15pm in the Kazbar Bar we are having a club Social evening where we will be presenting Frank Quinlan, Male Athlete of the year & Silvia Malone, Female Athlete of the year and Club person of the year to be announced on the night with their awards. The social will be preceded with the AGM starting at 8:00pm at the same venue.

The Munster star award for 2011 for Masters Club of the Year for both T&F and Cross Country and Roads was presented to the club on Saturday night last in Ennis and this will be on display.

Pictured representing Waterford AC are Frank Quinlan (M35), Kieran Leahy (M45, 2nd in the 200m), Mary Jenning (W55, 1st in 800m and 1500m and 2nd in 3K), Tom O'Brien (M40, 1st in Long Jump and High Jump) and Paschal Halley (M40, 2nd in Long Jump). A great day of competition at the National Indoor Championships of Ireland held in Nenagh in what all agreed was a very well run event on Sunday Jan 15th.

Well done all our medal winners at Nenagh today. Diane Behan won 3k O40, Paschal Halley double gold in 200m and Long Jump and 2nd in 800m and High Jump, Frank Quinlan 1st in 1500m, 2nd in 3k and 3rd in 800m O35, Kieran Leahy 2nd in both 60m and 200m O45 and Pat Breen won his first senior men title in the 400m. Great going all and National Masters Indoors next Sunday so good prep!!!

Waterford AC membership for 2012 is now due and the forms including rates are available below and on our membership page. Members are advised that 2011 membership lapses at the end of January.

Waterford AC Juvenile Club are looking for parents, runners, or anyone involved (or would like to become involved) in the club to help out with our training sessions. The main night we are hoping to get volunteers is on a Thursday night from 7-8pm. You don't need to be an Olympic Champion, just have an interest in athletics and organising games for kids.

Anyone who would like to help out can give their name to Albert Tebay on 087-6720897 or Brian Swaby on 087-2343520. All new coaches will have an easy introduction at Saturday morning training so nobody is just thrown in straight away.
